Vintage Fashion with Mary | King Carnahan Visuals - Portrait Photography

Throwing small dinner parties is something that we've always done. Julie absolutely loves to cook and I'll get on the grill no matter how cold it is outside. We usually don't even need to have an occasion.

Well, we made up an occasion last week so we could have a couple of friends over for some grilled chicken and pasta - Vintage fashion photo shoot! We asked the beautiful Mary Zeller to model for us and had the immensely talented Ryan McCarthy in to do hair and makeup. Julie pulled some goodness out of her old wardrobe stock and we got to snappin'.

Senior Portraits - John | Senior photography Madison, WI

Taking advantage of this Indian summer we've been blessed with lately, we were able to get in a late season Senior portrait session with John, a soon-to-be grad of Edgewood High School. John is a very talented musician and wanted his pictures to reflect his love for playing blues guitar. Heading downtown to a location we had visited on a previous fusion shoot with Krakora Studios, we captured some nice moments at sunset.

Then it was back to our brand new residential studio for some more traditional portraits. John is very proud of his Colombian heritage and wanted to sport his favorite hat given to him by his uncle on his trip to Colombia last summer.

Here's one of our favorites - a happy accident when our key light flash didn't fire.

Jennifer + Xavier | 8.22.2009

Once again, we were honored with the opportunity to assist Courtney of Blue Dandelion Photography at Jennifer and Xavier's wedding. The day began with a beautiful ceremony, in both english and catalan, at Our Lady Queen of Peace church in Madison. A quick trip to the Capitol building for photos was followed by a short walk down State Street to the historic Orpheum Theatre for the reception. Special thanks to Courtney for inviting us along and allowing us to show a few of our images.

Enjoy...

Magda + Paul Highlight Film | 5.30.09

We met Magda and Paul back in April of 2008 thanks to Wedding Coordinator extraordinaire, Angela Dupont of Top Shelf Weddings & Events. We were looked forward to their wedding for over a year, not just because Magda and Paul are such a great couple, or that we got the chance to work with Angela, but also because of the great venues they had chosen. Their wedding took place on the rooftop garden of the beautiful Monona Terrace. Their photos were taken at Olbrich Botanical Gardens and the reception occupied three levels of the lobby at the Overture Center in downtown Madison.

Here is a short highlight film of their day, accompanied by Etta James.

Other great people we got to share the day with:

Senior Fusion is here!

In another spectacular collaboration with our good friends and amazing photographers at Krakora Studios, we finally created something we've been dying to do for a long time... a Senior Fusion. Big thanks to Taylor for being such a wonderful and willing subject.

Senior Fusion is a convergence of a high school Senior Portrait session and our unique video highlight edit, resulting in a short film that captures more of the personality of our graduate-to-be as they begin their last year of high school.

We are all very excited about the results and would love to work with more Seniors that want something beyond a photograph to mark this important milestone. So much so, that both studios are offering a limited time Senior Fusion Film Special. Call us at 608.228.5464 to find out more.

In the meantime... meet Taylor.

Angela + James - 8/7/09

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of tagging along as a second shooter with Courtney of Blue Dandelion Photography. Angela and James were married on a misty/rainy day at St. James Lutheran Church, in Verona, WI. After the ceremony, the bridal party had some fun in the rain over at Fireman's park before heading off to the reception at The Heights Event Center.

I had a great time working with Courtney and as the following photographs hopefully show, the wedding party was a lot of fun too.
