Not having been to, let alone filmed a Hindu cermony before, we were really looking forward to the wedding of Reshmi and Kingshuk. Steeped in 3500 years of ritual and tradition, Reshmi and King's souls were united on September 27th, 2008 at the Monona Terrace in downtown, Madison. As the Hindu wedding is typically a multi-day affair, we were also privileged to attend and capture the Gaye Holud & Mehndi ceremonies the day before at Reshmi's parents home.
This clip highlights all three ceremonies, set to the hauntingly beautiful "Your Good Name", from the soundtrack of "Monsoon Wedding".
Hope and Adam were married August 3, 2008 at Fresco, atop the MMoCA in downtown Madison. They chose a gorgeous Sunday morning to exchange their vows, followed by a luncheon/reception at the nearby Madison Club.
From the bride getting ready in their suite at the Madison Concourse Hotel, to the old fashioned photo booth set up at their reception, the day was filled with laughter and fun, reflective of this wonderful couple's personalities. We think we were able to captured some of that energy in this highlight of their day.
What a great time we had yesterday at Chris and Bruce's Winter Wonderland Wedding. It turned out to be a beautiful day for January in Wisconsin - I believe it was actually above freezing for a little while. The wedding took place at the adorable Middlebury Wedding Chapel in Barneveld with the reception at the Deer Valley Lodge.
We had the privilege of working with Blue Dandelion Photography for the first time and hope to do so again soon.
Look for some highlights of this perfect day, in the coming weeks.
We're very proud of a recent project are dying to share it. In July of last year, we entered and won the Madison competition of the 48 Hour Film Project, with our film "To Be Okay". As one of 70 city winners throughout the world, we were eligible to compete in the 48 Hour Film Project International Shootout, last weekend, January 23-26.
At 7pm on Friday night, we ere emailed the elements that had to be included in a film, 3-5 minutes long. We had until the post office closed on Monday to finish and ship our finished film. The elements included-
Genre: drama
Theme: found money
Prop: a case containing $500,000.00
Character: a waitress named Frieda Gilroy
Line of dialogue: "will you meet me later?"
In all, 41 cities took part in this competition, with the winners film to be screened at the Miami International Film Festival in March. The results will be announced in late February.
With the new year already a month old, we're making good on our New Years resolution and starting to publish our blog for King of Hearts.
We hope that this will be a place for our clients to come and preview their Wedding Films as they approach completion. A place to share what's new and what's happening with our business and within our industry. A place to toot our own horn from time to time. And a place for folks to get in touch with us and let us know how we're doing.
Thanks for stopping by and for being patient as we get up and running.
