Not having been to, let alone filmed a Hindu cermony before, we were really looking forward to the wedding of Reshmi and Kingshuk. Steeped in 3500 years of ritual and tradition, Reshmi and King's souls were united on September 27th, 2008 at the Monona Terrace in downtown, Madison. As the Hindu wedding is typically a multi-day affair, we were also privileged to attend and capture the Gaye Holud & Mehndi ceremonies the day before at Reshmi's parents home.
This clip highlights all three ceremonies, set to the hauntingly beautiful "Your Good Name", from the soundtrack of "Monsoon Wedding".
Wow! So beautiful. I loved the way this was shot and edited...It was so captivating. The soudtrack was indeed "haunting" and it suited this highlight perfectly. This was absolutely gorgeous.
I bet the hardest part was keeping this to highlight length as there must have been so many choices! The way you captured the moments focused very well on their experience.
An underlying tone spoke how the combined care and support of their extended families ensures their marriage would find longevity in an age where many do not.
This was absolutely beautiful! Very impressive work David. Every part was stunning...the colors, the expressions and the feeling of the day were all there. Gave me goosebumps. :o)
